We're seeking a dedicated volunteer to help lead our Bike Project within Christchurch Men's Prison.
We're seeking a dedicated volunteer to help lead our Bike Project within Christchurch Men's Prison, a transformative programme that teaches young people valuable mechanical skills whilst providing transport options for community reintegration. This meaningful role involves facilitating fortnightly bicycle restoration workshops and being a positive role model for participants in the programme, with approximately half a day commitment per week. No bike mechanic experiences is required, full training and ongoing support will be provided. The role would initially work alongside our dedicated leader Mike, who has lead the programme with extraordinary dedication for ten years. Through his commitment, hundreds of bikes have been restored and countless young people have gained valuable skills, and the potential to make real life change. If you’re interested in becoming our next Bike Project Leader, call (03) 982 1952 or email connect@pathway.org.nz to get in touch.
