Highlighting the recent working bee we held with our Tū Ora.
Recently, a group of our Tū ora rolled up their sleeves for a working bee at one of Pathway’s flats — and the results were as meaningful as they were practical. Together, the team tackled overgrown lawns, weeded the gardens, trimmed back the apple tree, and gave the house a fresh look with a full waterblast.
Reintegration Navigator Silvan says the working bee was more than just a tidy-up:
“As part of the commitment the men make when they begin working with us, they agree to give back to the community where they can. This was a tangible opportunity for them to be part of something bigger than themselves.”
Silvan added that the day fostered a strong sense of community and pride:
“It’s a simple act, but being able to give back to an organisation that has helped them get to where they are means a lot.”
It’s moments like these that show the power of contribution — and how small actions can spark big shifts in mindset.
