Blessing another fresh start.

We are truly blessed to have some wonderful tenants living in homes provided by Pathway Affordable Housing, a group that’s about to grow!

After months of work, PAH's most recent housing development at 75 Pages Rd has been completed. Ahead of the moving trucks rolling in, a special service to bless each of the three, two-bedroom homes took place.

The blessing was overseen by Reverend Harry Newton and pastoral care manager Rick Smith, both of Sumner Redcliffs Anglican Church. The pair blessed the threshold of each property and then each room in turn, giving thanks for the opening of new doors as our new tenants look to make a future for themselves in a new home.

The formalities concluded with a waiata which placed a blessing upon the land, the space and the people who will be living there.

The red brick homes with shared driveway access are bright and modern, each featuring a spacious lounge, a compact yet functional kitchen, two decent sized bedrooms, a sparkling bathroom and with plenty of storage space tucked away, they're the ideal homes for our clients.

PAH director Matthew Gray and Pathway chief executive Murray Kennedy both spoke of the completion of the housing development as being a significant milestone. Murray added the development is positive for the wider community.

"We're trying to help people that can't afford good housing. There will be some great opportunities to bless people in the community through this development. There is a lot of need out there and people will be able to move into a nice new warm home."

It was a real watershed moment for Pathway and a heartfelt thanks must go to Matthew, the wider PAH team and everyone involved in every aspect of the development for their efforts in making it a reality!
