Pathway Retreat

Retreat

Our rural retreat accommodation is for those in need of immediate short or medium term housing. Pathway Retreat provides a comfortable, affordable and supportive environment for men looking to make a fresh start.

If you are looking for a stepping-stone in your life journey and a place for rest, reflection and renewal, Pathway Retreat may be for you. Based in the tranquil country town of Motukarara, it offers independent living in a setting where good choices and dignity are encouraged through developing responsibility, accountability, confidence, trust and growth.

Residents stay in single units with an ensuite bathroom and share a kitchen and lounge in a separate facility. Everyone at the Retreat goes through the Retreat Programme which is based on principles of Te Whare Tapa Wha and includes training in life skills, pastoral care, and restoration.

"Staying at the retreat was my last option, there was no where else to go, I would've been homeless but what I got when I arrived there was more than a place to stay, it was an open door and a fresh start with people who genuinely cared about my future. That part is not in their brochures." - Former Retreat Resident.
