Nurturing people (and plants!)

Seeing our Pathway Affordable Housing (PAH) tenants thrive in a healthy environment always gives us a boost. Now, they can also enjoy watching something thrive that might give them a boost of their own – a tomato plant!

When thinking about what to do for our tenants this Christmas the PAH team settled on a living gift that will benefit them in more ways than one.

Emma, PAH Wellbeing Manager says the tomato plants are easy to look after and the ideal way to introduce gardening into people's lives. They don't need to be staked and all going well, our tenants will be enjoying fresh tomatoes on Christmas Day!

Rae, Pathway's property coordinator very kindly planted these in pots a couple of months back and nurtured them to the point where fruit has started to burst!

It's not just the bright red fruit our tenants will enjoy this Christmas either. We also included some delicious shortbread cookies and chalk for our tenant's children, which proved a big hit last year – so much so that our tenants recently funded and installed a gate for their shared driveway, so the kids can create their chalk art safely.

We always take great joy in providing a little bit of festive cheer for our tenants, as we work to support them in their homes and the community.
