Navigate Initiative

NI Supporter Profile: Parry Field Lawyers

The Navigate Initiative depends on a community of supporters who believe that reintegration is everyone's business. One of those supporters is Christchurch law firm Parry Field Lawyers.

Parry Field has been part of the Canterbury community since 1948. Across that time, they have built a practice covering property, commercial law, employment, trusts, immigration and disputes. But the work they are perhaps most known for in the for-purpose sector goes deeper than legal advice. Parry Field has become a genuine champion for charities and social enterprises, co-authoring a textbook on New Zealand charities law, producing free resources and information hubs for community organisations, and establishing their own Charitable Foundation.

For Parry Field, being useful to organisations doing meaningful work is not a side project. It is woven into how they practise law.

That conviction sits behind their support of the Navigate Initiative. For a firm whose work regularly brings them alongside people navigating complex systems, whether establishing a charity, protecting an asset, or making a fresh start in a new country, the idea of helping someone rebuild is not unfamiliar territory.

"As a firm, we see it as a privilege to support and assist organisations who are making a real impact in the community. Pathway Trust is no exception. We are always struck by the stories of real change being carried out in people's lives through the work Pathway do and in particular the Navigate Initiative. Long may that continue. We want to thank Pathway for their hard work in this area and encourage all people involved in the Navigate Initiative that however they support the Navigate Initiative, they are assisting in this real change in people's lives." — Luke Hayward, Partner, Parry Field Lawyers
