Pathway Retreat

Accommodation

Our rural retreat offers short to mid term relief accommodation to both those in need and those seeking some space for personal reflection. Ideal for those who are committed to life change, support and encouragement are given while residents get their lives back on track. We can provide refuge from city pressures in a safe, stable and positive environment. The retreat is essentially focused on life change. Whatever the circumstances, we hope to see people restored and to move closer to God.

The accommodation at the Pathway Retreat is warm, comfortable, and very affordable. Each cabin has its own en suite bathroom. Nearby is a convenient shared kitchen and huge communal lounge. Caravan sites are also available at reasonable rates.

Motukarara is south of Christchurch near Lake Ellesmere on the way to Akaroa. It is a restful place for restoration and renewal. The extensive grounds and surrounding countryside give plenty of room for quiet walks and contemplation. Nearby attractions of Tai Tapu, Little River and the Rail Trail offer local activities.

John and his wife Heather, welcome your enquiries.  Contact the Retreat john@pathway.co.nz or phone 03 329 7373.

Pathway to Employment

Pathway to Employment is a programme that seeks to move disadvantaged individuals, long term beneficiaries or those with barriers to employment, into permanent work.
Over a 20 week period, participants are employed and paid a wage as they experience "on the job" training, attend training courses and work on community projects whilst gaining a range of practical and employable skills.

Who is Pathway To Employment For?
This programme run by Pathway Retreat, a division of Pathway Charitable Group is a great opportunity for anyone looking to further their skills or gain work experience and references. For long-term beneficiaries struggling to find a way out, Pathway to Employment can be an invaluable step.
Developing confidence and discussing the importance of good work ethics, presentation and communication, members of the programme are able to put these skills into practice while working on community projects. Examples of previous projects include renovation of public buildings and improvements to local parks, reserves and walkways.
