Aloha University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine

Haere mai, welcome and g’day mate to the University of Hawai’i’s Rainbow Wahine! 

New Zealand International Basketball Tours (NZIBT) will welcome its second-ever touring team, the Rainbow Wahine, to New Zealand and Australia in August 2018.

NZIBT is Pathway’s latest social enterprise. It is a travel service which offers division one U.S. college basketball teams tailored tours of New Zealand and Australia. All profits are returned to Pathway Trust.

Over 11 days the Rainbows will tour the two countries, matching up against four top New Zealand and Australian teams and exploring the epic sights both countries have to offer. The team will visit Auckland, Christchurch, Sydney and Melbourne and enjoy thrilling experiences like ziplining through the stunning scenery of Waiheke Island, exploring Maori culture and climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

The trip also represents a special chance for the team’s three Australian players to show off their homeland to their teammates. “We are incredibly excited about our program taking its first ever international trip,” says Head Coach Laura Beeman. “Australian players make this trip a perfect choice.
We look forward to sharing our Hawaiian culture, showcasing our basketball skills and learning about the beautiful people we will encounter.”

With all of the accommodation, transport, activities and games organised by NZIBT, all the Rainbows need to do is arrive, enjoy themselves and focus on bonding as a team.
