On September 28th the Pathway Social Enterprise Hub was officially opened by Mayor Lianne Dalziel.
The Social Enterprise Hub is based in Pathway’s new office space and is all about supporting emerging Christchurch social enterprises as they seek to upscale their operation and increase their social impact. Local social enterprises 27 seconds, Momo Said, Translucent and Woodland Escape are the first to move into the Hub.
“Moving into the Pathway Social Enterprise Hub is an exciting step for us as we look to grow our business. It’s a great opportunity to access support and expertise from people who have gone before us in the social enterprise space,” says Kate Mang, General Manager at Momo Said .
Participating social enterprises are offered a workspace and mentoring support in key business capability areas such as accounting, marketing, sales, human resources and strategic planning. Eventually, Pathway hopes to own a purpose-built facility which would allow more space to grow this initiative.
“Each of these four businesses has the potential to make a real difference in their respective communities and we’re excited to do our part to help that happen,” says Murray Kennedy, Chief Executive of Pathway Charitable Group. “We think social enterprise is the way forward for the not-for-profit sector in NZ.”
