A fresh experience for a fresh start

“I have never been so fast before in my life!”

It’s not every day that you get to ride with a world champion jet sprinter. Earlier this year seven Pathway clients and Pathway Employment Consultant Trevor Best went for the ride of their lives with champion jet sprinter and boat builder Peter Caughey.

“I couldn’t believe I got to do this so soon after release from prison,” said one client. “It was a once in a lifetime opportunity — something I have never been able to do before. It was amazing!” The trip was generously donated to Pathway’s most recent charity auction by Peter’s company Sprintec. It was purchased, and then in an incredible gesture, gifted back to Pathway. “This kind of experience offers a bright light in the difficult grind that can be trying to rebuild a life outside of prison,” says Trevor.

One client later commented: “It encouraged me to push on with my own life goals and to try to better myself. I felt trusted to be given this experience and I will always remember it. Thank you.”
